Sliding Tackles Week #16 FPL Player Picks

Player to watch this week, Aubameyang

Apologies for missing SEVEN game week review. It's end of the year so I was busy with various projects, house spring cleaning, gift shopping, yada yada yada, etc. I have not been updating my team but surprisingly my ranking didn't drop much.

I had two players who did not play on game week 15...and one of them was very expensive. Luckily I still managed a measly 65 points (thanks Fabianski, Fraser and Callum Wilson) but it looks like I will taking a lot of penalty points transferring players this game week.

Now, more reading materials for you guys and girls.

Now, for the player picks.

Goalkeeper

Potential Seasons Keeper : Allison (Liverpool)Ederson (Manchester City)
Fabianski (West Ham) : Lotsa saves and Crystal Palace's strike force doesn't seem to be working
Hmm, I don't have much recommendation here but you can go with Internet's picks like Pickford or Joe Hart.

Defender

Potential Seasons Keeper : Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
Bellerin, Kolasinac (Arsenal) : High chance of getting CS/assist/goal against last placed West Ham
Matt Doherty (Wolves) : A goal and an assist in the last 2 games. Would prefer he gets a clean sheet as well

Midfielder

Potential Seasons Keeper : Mo Salah (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Sterling (Manchester City)
Sigurdsson, Richarlison (Everton) : Both performing well and should be able to guide Everton to victory but beware of rotations
Felipe Anderson (West Ham) : With relatively 6 easy to okay games coming, he should be able to score a few goals

Forward

Potential Seasons Keeper : Aguero (Manchester City)
Raul Jimenez (Wolves) : 2 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 games and more importantly...CHEAP!
Hurri-Kane (Tottenham) : Looks like he is back in form; 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games AND 6 relatively easy games coming for him
Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacezette (Arsenal) : I'm not sure who will start but in the end, both will return good points. Good luck Huddersfield

Now, for my team. With an extra transfer from last week, I was able to tweak my team a bit but still I have to take -8 points transfer penalty. I can't fit Kane in my team so I opt for Jimenez. Was gonna remove Salah for Kane but I think I shall put my faith a little longer on Salah.

Ok, that's all for now. Good luck and enjoy the game week

Sliding Tackles Week #9 FPL Player Picks

Player to watch this week, Rambo

Apologies for missing one game week review. Was busy with work and I even forgotten to update my team...which was a blessing in disguise. Even today, I just got off work at 4+am earlier and I am already up 4 hours later to complete this post.

Like I mentioned earlier, I was lucky for missing the update. 68 points with game week 7 team. If I have gone with my game week 8 team, it would have been way less points.

Now, more reading materials for you guys and girls.

Now, for the player picks.

Goalkeeper

Potential Seasons Keeper : Allison (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City)
Rui Patricio (Wolves) : So tempted to move him to potential seasons keeper
Asmir Begovic (Bournemouth) : 2 rather easy games back to back

Defender

Potential Seasons Keeper : Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
Kieran Trippier (Tottenham) : High chance of getting CS/assist/goal against last placed West Ham
Matt Doherty (Wolves) : 2 remaining relatively easy games ahead for this attacking wing back. Expect clean sheets and assists from him

Midfielder

Potential Seasons Keeper : Mo Salah (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Rambo (Arsenal) : Keep an eye on him for this next 2 games. We might see the old Rambo from few seasons ago
Raheem Sterling (Man City) : Wishing good luck to his ex-team mate Joe Hart. Should be a relatively easy game for Man City players

Forward

Potential Seasons Keeper : Aguero (Manchester City)
Mitrovic (Fulham) : Did not perform the last 2 games but this game week should be relatively easy for him
Callum Wilson, Joshua King (Bournemouth) : My savior last game week. 2 easy games so expect goals and assists
Alexandre Lacezette (Arsenal) : Between Lacezette and Aubameyang, I think Lacazette has better chances in scoring high points

Now, for my team. With an extra transfer from last week, I was able to tweak my team a bit more. In comes Sterling, Richarlison and Doherty for Holebas, Silva and Mane. Yeah, this team looks great. Hoping for 80+ points game week again.

Ok, that's all for now. Good luck and enjoy the game week

Sliding Tackles Week #7 FPL Player Picks

Player to watch this week, Richarlison

Apologies for another late post. Was busy preparing presentation slides for next week's meeting and had to do some last minute shopping.

Back to horrible week for me; only managed to score 41 points. Non of my players (even captain) managed to get double digit points. Looks like I need to tweak my team again.

Now, more reading materials for you guys and girls.

Now, for the player picks.

Goalkeeper

Potential Seasons Keeper : Allison (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City)
Joe Hart (Burnley) : Playing against 19th place, Cardiff. Shouldn't be that tough for Joe Hart to get a CS right?

Defender

Potential Seasons Keeper : Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
Kieran Trippier (Tottenham) : High chance of getting CS/assist/goal against last placed Huddersfield
Matt Doherty (Wolves) : 4 relatively easy games ahead for this attacking wing back. Expect clean sheets and assists from him

Midfielder

Potential Seasons Keeper : Mo Salah (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
James Maddison (Leicester City) : Another goal from him last game week. Expect more to come. I might move him up to potential seasons keeper if he performs again this week

Forward

Potential Seasons Keeper : Aguero (Manchester City)
Mitrovic (Fulham) : Another wonderful performance from him last game week. He should score another one at least this week
Kane (Spurs) : He was not the same person he was last season but believe he's getting there. Trust him
Vardy (Leicester City) : One goal and one assist last week. We can expect more from him this week

Now, for my team. I am gambling by transferring an extra player out this week to stabilize my team. My initial plan was to move 3 players out by replacing Silva with Richarlison but taking a -8 points is just to risky for now. I'll stick to the team below for now and pray Pep doesn't rotate Silva out.

Ok, that's all for now. Good luck and enjoy the game week

Sliding Tackles Week #6 FPL Player Picks

Player to watch this week, Schurrle

Apologies for the late post. Was busy with gifts shopping for a friend's baby's 100th day birthday and I had some visitors as well earlier.

77 points after using wildcard. Rui Patricio and Bissaka got their clean sheet, Hazard, Silva and Ings are on the score sheet, and lucky enough Kun and Wilson are on the assist sheet. Not bad but I will have a dilemma for this game week. Ings will not be playing against his parent club, Pedro is doubtful and...Silva might be rotated. Looks like my best choice is to keep both Ings and Silva, and replace Pedro for now so I won't suffer any penalty.

Now, more reading pleasure for you guys and girls.

Now, for the player picks.

Goalkeeper

Potential Seasons Keeper : Allison (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City)
Wayne Hennesey (Crystal Palace) : 4 favorable match ups
Vorm (Spurs) : With Lloris out til October, Vorm will be the replacement. 4 favorable match ups

Defender

Potential Seasons Keeper : Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
Midfielder

Potential Seasons Keeper : Mo Salah, Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Lucas Moura, Heung-Min Son (Spurs) : Sub par performance last game week but Spurs have 4 easy games
James Maddison (Leicester City) : 3 easy games ahead. Expect a few more goals and assists for him
Sterling (Manchester City) : 2 goals in his last 3 games. 2 easy games ahead.

Forward

Potential Seasons Keeper : Aguero (Manchester City)
Ings (Southampton) : Not eligible to play against parent club
Mitrovic (Fulham) : 2 ok games ahead. Expect some goals from him
Zaha (Crystal Palace) : 4 easy games ahead. Expect some goals from him
Vardy (Leicester City) : Should be an easy game for him against HuddersfieldCallum Wilson (Bournemouth) : 5 favorable game week for him. Expect more goals from him

Looks like there's not much good defender choices for this game week. Alternative choices would be Laporte, Chiwell and Maguire.

Now, for my team. I can't afford to lose points so I won't be changing my keeper. Let's hope Manchester United under perform this weekend hahaha. I forgot to sub out Mendy for Holebas when I was taking this screenshot but yeah, Mendy is out.

Ok, that's all for now. Good luck and enjoy the game week

Sliding Tackles Week #5 FPL Player Picks

Player to watch this week, Pedro

Another horrible game week for me. Only managed to get 47 points with the team below. 2 good game weeks and 2 bad game weeks. I am definitely going to use my wild card today.

Now, more reading pleasure for you guys and girls.

RotoWorld's FPL Player Picks - Here

Now, for the player picks.

Goalkeeper

Potential Seasons Keeper : Allison (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City)
Alex McCarthy (Southampton) : Potential for a high scoring points for him
Rui Patricio (Wolves) : I bought him the previous game week and was rewarded with a clean sheet. He is due for another this weekend.

Defender

Potential Seasons Keeper : Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)
Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace) : Back from suspension. Cheap!
Kieran Trippier (Spurs) : Set piece duties
Holebas (Wolves) : Nailed his 4th assist last game week. Tough game this weekend against Manchester United but Manchester United's attack and defense isn't very top notch this season
Wolves defenders : Should be an easy game against Burnley

Midfielder

Potential Seasons Keeper : Mo Salah, Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Pedro (Chelsea) : Rotation risk but still manage to score everytime he comes in
David Silva (Manchester City) : Did not perform so well in the last 2 games but Manchester City have 3 easy games in hand, he should shine

Forward

Potential Seasons Keeper : Aguero (Manchester City)
Ings (Southampton) : Did well in his previous game and a favorable game this weekend
Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) : 6 favorable game week for him. Expect more goals from him

Looks like there's not much good forward choices either for this game week. You can continue to gamble with Aubameyang, Mitrovic and Lacazette if you are holding them.

Now, for my team. I will be using the wildcard AND I am selling Salah for Mane! Knowing my luck, Salah will score big this weekend hahahaha

Ok, that's all for now. Good luck and enjoy the game week and for Malaysians, enjoy the long weekend!

Sliding Tackles Week #4 FPL Player Picks

Player to watch this week, Pascal Gross

Yay, my slidingtackles.com domain is back online!

Looks like it's been a horrible game week for most managers. I called it the 2 points week; top picks like Aguero, Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan, Fraser, Pogba and Ederson only manage to contribute 2 points each. Richarlison got a red card and now we had to find a replacement for him.

I barely survived game week 3 with 46 points which I personally think was horrible. I recommended Mitrovic in my last post but I was stubborn to think Firmino would perform. But no point crying over a spilled milk. Now, this week's dilemma...to wild card or not to wild card.

What is a "wild card"? Veteran players would know but I will explain anyways for newer players...actually,  I will just copy paste from the FPL website for accuracy.

A wildcard allows you to make unlimited free transfers throughout a Gameweek. Playing a wildcard will remove any points deductions from transfers already made in the same Gameweek.
You play a wildcard when you want to make multiple changes to your team, for example Gameweeks when teams are playing more than once, or when your team is underperforming or has a lot of injuries.
When using a wildcard, you must remain within your current budget. There is no unlimited budget when using a wildcard.
The Wildcard chip can be used twice a season, once in the first half of the season (before 29 Dec 14:00) and once in the second half of the season.
Wildcards are played on the transfers page but aren't active until you have confirmed the transfers.
My dilemma now is, who should I transfer out and in. I think I will hold on for one more week before using the wild card. Let's hope I can survive this week.

Now, more reading pleasure for you guys and girls.

Now, for the player picks.

Goalkeeper

Potential Seasons Keeper : Allison (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City)
Wayne Hennesey (Crystal Palace) : 6 favorable match ups coming up
Jordan Pickford (Everton) : 2 favorable match ups coming up
Rui Patricio (Wolves) : 2 favorable match ups coming up

Defender

Potential Seasons Keeper : Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)
Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace) : Back from suspension. Cheap!
Kieran Trippier (Spurs) : Set piece duties
Hector Bellerin (Arsenal) : He is due for a clean sheet and more assist. Long favorable match ups incoming!

Midfielder

Potential Seasons Keeper : Mo Salah, Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Walcott (Everton) : Temporary replacement for Richarlison. 2 favorable match ups coming up
Pedro (Chelsea) : Hopefully his partnership with Hazard works
Special Pick : Pascal Gross (Brighton) : On set piece and penalty duties

Forward

Potential Seasons Keeper : Aguero (Manchester City)
Zaha (Crystal Palace) : 6 favorable match ups coming up. Expect more goals from him

Looks like there's not much good forward choices for this game week. You can continue to gamble with Aubameyang, Kane, Lukaku, Mitrovic and Callum Wilson if you are holding them.

Now, for my team. Again 2 changes this week. I am expecting more changes next week depending on Mkhitaryan and Bernardo Silva. Ings and goalkeeper as well.

Ok, that's all for now. Good luck and enjoy the game week!
